The longest single lane motorable suspension bridge in India is the 440-meter-long Dobra Chanti bridge in Tehri, Uttarakhand.
It has reduced the travel time between Tehri and Pratapnagar districts from five hours to 1.5 hours and is built across Tehri Lake.

About Tehri Dam
The Tehri Dam is the fourth-highest dam in the world and the highest dam in India.
It is approximately 592 metres long and 260.5 metres high. It is a component of the Tehri Dam & Hydro Power Project, a multi-use river valley project designed to take advantage of the River Bhagirathi’s enormous potential for irrigation and hydropower.
It is situated in Uttarakhand’s Tehri district.
